Your Travel Experience with Bamba
We will begin the tour by departing from Mexico City towards the ruined city of Teotihuacán, also known as the City of the Gods.
Meeting point: Pick up in the lobby of hotels in Polanco, downtown, Zona Rosa, and Reforma.
Accompanied by your local guide, you will be able to explore the magnificent Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, the Avenue of the Dead, and the Temples of Quetzalcoatl and the Butterflies. We will have time to have lunch (at your own expense) and visit traditional regional handicraft markets.
Next, we will move on to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the most visited religious site in Latin America. The sanctuary was built in the year 1531 after Juan Diego, a local farmer, had a vision of a woman surrounded by light, asking for a church to be built in her honor. She identified herself as the Virgin Mary and left a miraculous self-image imprinted on the farmer’s cloak. The sanctuary itself is a marvelous example of Spanish Baroque art and is one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Catholics around the world.
