Your Travel Experience with Bamba
We’ll take a short drive towards a restaurant in a lovely community right outside San Miguel de Allende with beautiful views of the mountains and the dam along the way.
There, we’ll be greeted by a local archaeologist whose interest extends into Mexican cuisine. The restaurant is known for its inspired and colorful dishes that have a pre-hispanic influence, using local ingredients and procedures that have been practiced since before the Spanish conquest by the local indigenous tribes. We’ll spend the morning going through these ingredientes, learning their history, their use in Mexican culture and preparing our own lunch from scratch. You’ll be guided every step of the way, working with local cooks to make a delicious 3 or 4 course meal including making corn tortillas by hand as well as salsas, appetizers, main dishes and even dessert. Join us for a relaxing, educational, hands-on workshop of traditional Mexican cooking and enjoy a delicious meal outdoors at a quaint homey restaurant under the guidance of local cooks and an archaeologist eager to share our culinary history with you.
